About the event
About the event Â
Navratri is a nine-day Hindu festival which celebrates the power of Shakti – the Divine Feminine and the arch deity is Goddess Durga. Each of the nine nights represents a different manifestation of the goddess defeating the forces of darkness and ignorance from our lives.Â
Sharad Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu lunar month of Ashvin. Sharad Purnima celebrates the night that the Raasleela was performed between Radhe Krishna and the gopis. Both festivals have grown in popularity in modern times with wonderful music and traditional raas-garba (going around the shrine at the centre).
